Champions Golden State face elimination from the National Basketball Association playoffs, after falling 98-94 on the road to the Houston Rockets in Game Five of their Western Conference finals series.

The Western Conference Finals series between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets is now tied at 2-2 after another win for Houston earlier this week, but Golden State's Draymond Green is confident that his team can bounce back.

Iguodala banged his left knee during the fourth quarter of Game 3's decisive win over the Rockets at home.

After combining for 3-for-13 shooting on threes in the first half, Thompson (4-for-5) and Curry (3-for-4) bombed in seven of nine from beyond the arc in the third quarter, during which the Warriors outscored the Rockets 33-16 to take a lead they never relinquished.

Klay Thompson shook off a knee injury that had his status for this game in question to score 23 points and Curry added 22.

Warriors: Coach Steve Kerr was unsure Thursday if Iguodala would be able to return for Game 6. "I'm just missing shots".

Chris Paul's grit and veteran leadership have pushed the Golden State Warriors to the brink of elimination.

His eight first-half points - including a pair of 3-pointers - and versatile defense were key contributions when shots weren't falling for the Rockets' backcourt. "I know exactly what I'm seeing out there and we defended them beautifully tonight".

Two games to win two and advance to the Finals. If Iguodala can't go, it will be a major setback for Golden State - not just because he is its most essential role player, but because his absence would further deplete a thin wing rotation. "We've just got one chance". Oh, who specializes in advanced statistical analyses and sports projections, is on a stellar 18-12 run with selections involving the Rockets. On Saturday night it was as if there were six Cavaliers on the floor at times as they also out-rebounded the Celtics 45-34. He started 30 games this season while Paul and James Harden dealt with injuries.

"His spirits aren't great", D'Antoni said of Paul.

Yes, the Warriors might need to win their last two games - this team has used up every bit of its margin for error - but the difference between winning and losing in both Games 4 and 5 has been marginal. He never had anyone he could hand the team over to, so he's basically had it on his back from opening night. While teams over the salary cap can sign as many players as they want to minimum-value contract (the Warriors also have a mid-level exception, worth about $6 million, now used on Young) it's unlikely that all four return next year, particularly with both Damian Jones, Quinn Cook, Shaun Livingston, and Jordan Bell signed on for next season.

Despite playing with one of his least reliable supporting casts, James still threw the ball around, firing passes for open three pointers despite the Cavs making just 9-of-35 from long range. It is a journey that has attracted a lot of attention - last night's Game 5 pulled in a 7.0 in metered market ratings for TNT.

Capela provided crucial rim protection (a pair of blocks and countless contests) while dominating the glass (14 rebounds), and capitalized on the offensive end (12 points on 5-for-6 shooting), whether it was on the receiving end of a lob or a duck-in. Don't try to get it all back with one shot.
