Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr joked that he had considered resigning before his team bounced back from a disastrous first half performance to reach the NBA Finals on Monday (Tuesday in Manila).

"That's what C.P. was so good at in two [of the] games we won", D'Antoni told reporters.

Game 1 is ready to go, with up to seven games in total to be played over the next two weeks - but when will they take place? Meanwhile, is it completely surprising that Chris Paul, who has had his fair share of injuries in his career and also turned 33 earlier this month, saw his hamstring give out under the strain of trying to go toe-to-toe with Golden State? He missed the next night's contest and returned to the floor on March 30.

In a win-or-go-home Game 7 on the road, LeBron James dropped 35 points en route to his eighth consecutive NBA Finals appearance. They find a way to play well enough to keep the games in striking distance so James can will the Cavs across the finish line, and that will be the strategy again starting Thursday at Oracle Arena. He's still the best shooter in the sport, and the Warriors' ability to pull away and win Game 7 against Houston came down largely to him finding looks, flipping the switch, and knocking down pretty much every shot he took. Bron has Kevin Love when he decides to show up and not much else ever since Kyrie defected to Boston.

James tallied 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a game-seven win over Boston in the Eastern Conference finals. The veteran scored 14 points on 10 shots in Game 6.

Kevin Durant does not think he should be compared to LeBron James.

During their 101-92 loss in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals on Monday night, the Rockets misfired on 27 straight attempts from three-point range, the most ever missed consecutively in an National Basketball Association playoff game.

Overall, TNT's 42 live playoff games averaged 4.9 million viewers, the network's most-watched playoffs coverage since 2011.

Cleveland won't be able to survive a poor showing from Love like they did in 2016. His average third-quarter points are almost double any other quarter and his true shooting percentage is near 80 percent. It would represent the team's third title in four seasons, culminating in back-to-back championships.

The NBA may be trending in the direction of firing as many three-pointers as possible.

During this regular season, the Warriors outscored opponents by 18.5 points per 100 possessions, more than twice the margin of any other team in the league.
