Kyrie Irving Skipped Game 7 While Recovering From Nasal Surgery

Hayward missed nearly the entire 2017/18 National Basketball Association season after suffering an injury in the opening game of the campaign, while Irving played most of the regular season and was key in helping them finish as the second seeds in the East behind the Toronto Raptors.

In an interview Friday with "Dale & Keefe", Ainge scoffed at the notion that the Celtics don't need their two prized acquisitions from a year ago. And how great Gordon was past year on a 51-win team?

Hayward broke his leg in the first quarter of the season opener and missed the rest of the 2017-18 season.

The Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals and the Cavs beat the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Isn't the National Basketball Association more fun when the stars are healthy? "I don't think any of us can really understand".

I'm not sure why Green was arguing, but he earned his fourth technical of the postseason. This quote is bad timing after his brutal performance in Sunday's Game 7 defeat, but to be fair, he was playing at less than 100 percent.

The Celtics and Cavaliers will battle it out in what is expected to be a gripping Game 7 at the TD Garden with the victor progressing to the NBA Finals. It's just simply he's got a million cameras in front of him and got a bunch mics in front of him.

"Gordon is progressing well", Ainge said. The Boston Celtics are rising up and you will see Lebron James, and Step Curry getting the golf clubs out in early May next playoff season. I'm anxious about how players are working and how they perform on the court. You want to feel that way. Of course, this surgery - not unlike Kyrie Irving's surgery that effectively ended his season - comes as a surprise to most.

We now know why Irving wasn't at the game. But Ainge has dismissed any suggestions and was keenly looking forward to next season when the two will return and make the young team consisting of Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum even stronger.

"I think it's a lot of pressure on them", O'Neal told TNT. "I know it creates headlines and talk radio buzz, but from my standpoint, I'm not anxious".

Given the solid performances of players like Terry Rozier and Jayson Tatum, so came the theory that maybe the Celtics don't need Kyrie Irving or Gordon Hayward after all.

"Those guys got an opportunity", Ainge said. "They didn't just walk through that door, they ran through that door and proved that they're fantastic players".
