Dynasty's doorstep: Warriors take 3-0 lead in Finals

A day after Trump revoked an invitation to the National Football League champion Philadelphia Eagles to visit the White House amid reports fewer than 10 players would take part, the NBA's elite closed ranks to condemn the president.

The Cavs will need much more from Smith when the series shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 on Wednesday night if they are going to match their comeback from an 0-2 deficit that they accomplished in beating the Warriors for the title two years ago and in the Eastern Conference finals last month against Boston.

The Warriors seized a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven NBA Finals and by winning game four Friday can complete the first championship series sweep since Cleveland was blanked by San Antonio in 2007.

When asked about the sequence, James joked about the criticism before asking "We're in the NBA Finals - how much more picking up teammates do you want me to do?" So I would upgrade him to questionable.

With a three-point lead and the shot clock expiring, Kevin Durant knocked down a 33-foot three-pointer with 49 seconds remaining. "So I would upgrade him to questionable". I'm talking about this series featuring the Warriors and the Cavaliers. There's no, like, 'OK, you're down 2-0 and you feel better than when you're down 2-0 before.' When you're down like this, in a deficit like this - versus a team like this - there's no good feeling. Right before the Cavs began to fall apart.

"We all know what he's capable of and how he helps this team", Warriors forward Draymond Green said.

"We're very confident we can do that", Lue said.

Kendrick Perkins had a warning for the Warriors before Game 3 of the NBA Finals. "I don't care at all. I'm pretty sure, the way we handled things a year ago, [we'll] stay consistent with that", Curry said later. "We know coming on the road is going to be tougher". At times they did make us pay.

"It will be nice when we can just get back to normal, in three years". "But we've got to come out and got to play 48 minutes". "A lot of people that believe he's not for the people or doing things that's right by the people".

"He's doing better", Kerr said.

Curry said he was not shocked to see how the White House appearance issue has escalated since last September.

Philadelphia Eagles players have responded to Trump, several of them noting that few players were going to attend anyway, and that at no stage last season did Eagles players kneel during the anthem.

Every single team needs to be paying attention to where James goes, because it could transform the outlook of anyone thinking about going on a run next season. Curry, sitting in the corner on Smith, came over to "tag" Thompson - that is, brush up against him to slow his roll - and ended up jumping the passing lane, getting the steal.
