One of Microsoft's biggest franchises is quite easily Halo and one of the most popular console games since the first Xbox was released.

Microsoft has used this year's E3 conference to tilt its hat and announce that it is most definitely going to go large as far as current and future-generation gaming is concerned.

In all the company showed off 52 games, 15 of which were world premieres, Phil Spencer, the head of the Xbox unit, told the crowd at the Microsoft Theater. And Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, its most recent success, was a PlayStation 4 timed console exclusive, although it eventually came out on Xbox One earlier this year. The initial release of Halo Infinite may only contain the single-player experience, with the multiplayer part of the game releasing quite a bit later. Playground Games Limited is a British video game developer located in the United Kingdom, and the maker of the Forza franchise. From a new Gears of War strategy title to From Software's brand new IP, Microsoft hit every corner of gaming interest. We'll do our best to walk you through what this game, which may be Halo 6, is about and when you can expect to play it.

Microsoft also announced a US$50 price reduction in all its Xbox One consoles. But Microsoft does have one particular type of resource others lack, and that's cloud services of its own and a strong team of engineers.

Perhaps the most striking announcement is Microsoft's move to buy Ninja Theory. A new game engine powers this attractive new Halo world.

"The original games we create at Microsoft Studios are some of our biggest assets", said Matt Booty, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios.

Excited already? Well, you'll have to wait since the game officially arrives on October 2 for Xbox and PC.
