"In just more than 48 hours, #BSO homicide detectives arrested Dedrick Devonshay Williams for the murder of Jahseh Onfroy, also known as XXXTentacion", the Broward County Sheriff's Office tweeted alongside a picture of 22-year-old Williams. The 20-year-old rapper was motorcycle shopping when he was shot to death in the front seat of his vehicle. According to TMZ, Williams was also charged with violating probation after a prior grand theft auto charge. Right now, he's being held at the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

The rapper, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was leaving the dealership in his luxury BMW electric vehicle when he was shot.

Authorities arrested Dedrick Williams of Pompano Beach on Wednesday evening and charged him with first-degree murder. He did not face jail time for any of these charges, some of which were dropped.

XXXTentacion's ex-girlfriend, who made claims that the rapper brutally beat her while pregnant, was reportedly chased out of his vigil by angry fans.

His lawyer, David Bogenschutz, told South Florida's Sun-Sentinel newspaper that police were investigating the killing as a "random robbery".

In a video posted to social media Thursday, Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy said he will be mourning XXXTentacion's death for seven days before celebrating his son's life.

If you have any information on XXXTentacion's murder, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. "I think the determination was that he wanted to buy a motorcycle, but [detectives] are not discounting any theory".

XXXTentacion's album, titled?, hit number one in the charts and he had a top ten hit with his track Sad!. He faced charges of aggravated battery of his pregnant girlfriend, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering.

In an interview this month with the Miami New Times, XXXTentacion described his upbringing, which included seeing his mother infrequently and being raised by friends, family and baby sitters. He said he used violence so she would engage with him.
