Universal announced that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earned $15.3 million on preview night, according to Deadline.

When "Jurassic Park" came out in 1993, it was a groundbreaking marvel. Then again, with the World Cup in full swing, which is far more popular in other parts of the world than in the US, it's possible the sequel could suffer in China because of World Cup fever, and the impending summer "blackout" of Hollywood films that happens every year at the end of June.

In a post-credits scene, we see more of this new future that is certainly setting up Jurassic World 3 when we see a flock of Pteranadon in Las Vegas, Nevada by the Eiffel Tower replica at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The film also marks the return of Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum, who is reprising his role as the smooth-talking mathematician Ian Malcolm.

The Park is gone, but the money is still there for the Jurassic franchise. After the events of 2015's Jurassic World, the park run by Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) was completely destroyed.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the only major new release this weekend. Opening estimations hint that audiences are ready to take in an action-packed spectacle after more character-driven films like Ocean's Eight, Tag, and Hereditary.
