OH to have a sales-tax holiday

While the first day of school might be about a month away, you can get a head start on some of that back to school shopping thanks to the yearly tax-free weekend.

The commonwealth now combines its three sales tax holidays into one, making back-to-school supplies, hurricane and winter preparedness supplies and energy-efficient appliances tax free.

Pinson said this weekend is good exposure for OH - a lot of surrounding states participate in the tax free holiday. School supplies, computers and clothing, to name a few things!

The report references studies that show tax holidays don't significantly boost yearly retail sales. The local tax break on the Second Amendment Holiday will remain in place.
