Trump Claps Back At LeBron James For Saying He's Dividing The County

"And in free agency Kobe hit me up himself like, "Hey, you want to be a Laker?' and I'm 'Hell ya, I've always been a Laker fan" and he said, 'Anyone insane enough to f*** with me is insane enough to play with me'".

James had criticized Trump over his attacks on athletes in a CNN interview Monday that re-aired Friday, seemingly prompting the president's latest Twitter outburst.

In his tweet, Trump insulted Lemon and then said that it's "not easy" to make James look smart.

Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell stepped into a national political fray Saturday morning, defending LeBron James after President Donald Trump called James dumb on Twitter.

Lemon came to James' defense on Saturday morning, tweeting: "Who's the real dummy?"

In an interview with CNN, James said he thought the president had used sports to "divide" the U.S., adding it was something he "can't relate to". Laker fans who spoke with Eyewitness News also felt the same way, often mentioning the school James opened and how he's impacted those kids' lives.

Trump's timing is curious to say the least considering the fact that James' CNN interview was not the first time he voiced his displeasure at Trump's leadership. He has also been frequently critical of the president.

Last year, James tweeted directly at Trump after the president tweeted that he was withdrawing the White House invitation to the Golden State Warriors because Stephen Curry was "hesitating" about going.

James played for over a decade - and in two stints - with the Cleveland Cavaliers and delivered a title to the championship-starved region in 2016. A man who puts kids in classrooms or one who puts kids in cages?

"No matter how successful you could become, no matter who you are, when you are an African-American kid, you're always going to be going against obstacles", James said, urging black children to use their racial struggles to motivate them positively.

There's nothing substantive about Trump's tweet.
