Mauricio Pochettino calls Tottenham's summer transfer inactivity 'brave'

The bid from Spurs has been rejected, and Villa any further bid - be it from the North London club or any other team - will also be rebuffed.

Tottenham were rather quiet in the summer transfer window but the Lilywhites managed to keep hold of key players such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. But strong performances in Russian Federation weren't a necessity when it came to Premier League clubs deciding whether to spend the fruits of soccer's biggest television contracts.

"I am not anxious, I am not sad, I am so happy".

"Maybe some players will stay here to try to reach the level, to give more time, for different reasons - because maybe we don't want to take risks, because they need more preparation, because the background or history of their injuries is different".
