Omarosa: Trump 'wants to start a race war'

In another portion of her recording, Manigault asked Kelly if Trump was aware that she was being fired, and Kelly replied that this was a "non-negotiable discussion".

In her new tell-all Unhinged, she writes that a tape exists of Trump saying the n-word during his Apprentice days, though she claims not to have heard it.

Yesterday, it was reported that former White House Aide Omarosa Manigault Newman had recorded her firing by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Manigault Newman told Todd that she made the recordings of conversations because "this is a White House where everybody lies" and "you have to have your back".

Former national security officials said it was not clear whether Manigault Newman had broken any laws, but she certainly violated the rules around what is supposed to be one of the most secure rooms in the capital.

Omarosa Manigault Newman entered the White House as one of President Donald Trump's longest-serving associates, the only person aside from his daughter who'd known and worked alongside him for more than a decade.

Ms Manigault Newman defended her decision to covertly record it and other White House conversations, describing it as a form of protection.

Manigault Newman was a contestant on Trump's reality show, "The Apprentice", and later served as a Senior Adviser to the President.

Newman didn't specify when exactly the tape was from, but said that it was from Trump's time hosting the show and spinoffs through early 2015.

She says when she turned down the offer, she received letters from Trump's lawyers telling her to stay quiet.

She also confirmed that she had heard Trump on tape using the N-word while filming "The Apprentice".

Trump tweeted that he would rather not take on this "lowlife" and recognizes it is "not presidential".

NBC News aired the new audio but cautioned that the organization does not know what was said before or after the segment provided. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. While writing the book, "three separate sources" had "described the same exact statements", she said.

When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems.

How on Earth was Manigault able to stride into that room and walk away with a secret recording of what happened there?

Appearing on Meet the Press on Sunday, Omarosa claimed she had personally listened to the tape after her book went to press.

Gidley also noticed how Manigault-Newman, once spurned by the media, now suddenly has a red carpet welcome.

"I protected myself because this is a White House where everybody lies; the president lies to the American people, [press secretary] Sarah Huckabee stands in front of the country and lies every single day".

She insists her firing last December was because she knew too much about a possible audio recording of the President uttering a racial epithet, which she claims was the subject of deep consternation among campaign - and later White House - aides. "You leave the room and he probably has a nickname for you", she said.
