Tesla CEO Elon Musk smokes weed with Joe Rogan on live webcast

Tesla shares, down just 1 per cent after Musk's appearance on the Rogan podcast overnight, fell another 7 per cent after Morton's resignation to $262.54.

At this point, you have either made your peace with it and want to let Tesla's genius just be himself; or you've been wondering how on earth (that giant, lightly crusted ball of lava) the stock price has defied the onslaught of missed targets, tantrums, the tent, Pedo-Gate, and the take-private-yeah?-nah fiasco.

Later on Friday, Musk announced a series of promotions to fill a variety of open positions including president of automative and vice president of people and places.

Can I be the only one not terribly reassured by the latter part of that statement from a man who jumped ship after 29 days?

"I waited around all weekend while grimes coddled her boyfriend for being too stupid to know not to go on twitter while on acid", Banks posted on her feed.

Running Tesla is his "hardest" job, he told Rogan.

Viecha also restated Tesla's forecast that it will build 50,000 to 55,000 of its Model 3 sedans in the current quarter, and indicated the company's working capital will improve as production increases, Spak wrote.

Musk raised eyebrows on social media after accepting what Rogan said was a joint of marijuana and tobacco and taking a puff. I believe it is fine if it is done responsibly and appropriately and I am pleased that it is becoming legal in many states around the country. Marijuana is legal for medical and recreational use in California, where the interview was recorded.

"I'm not a regular smoker of weed", Mr Musk said.

"It's like a cup of coffee in reverse", he added.

Musk's plans to take Tesla private have since been thwarted, and it appears that his anti-cannabis chiding was easily susceptible to Rogan's light peer pressure.

The interview touched on one of Musk's favorite themes: ways to revolutionize transportation.

Clips of the unexpected smoke break have quickly gone viral, catching the attention of Musk's friends and business partners.

Tesla reached that level in late June, but did so by working around the clock and hastily adding a third assembly line in a very big tent outside its factory in Fremont, California - a measure that auto-manufacturing experts had never seen before.

"There's a reason for the word 'stoned, '" Musk said. During the conversation, he gave an important explanation of why he's concentrated on electric cars, solar energy, and battery technology instead of other things, such as electric planes.

"Maybe it will be successful, maybe it won't", Musk said.

"As a board member at Tesla, it's got to be clear to you that your CEO is in distress", Atkins said in an interview. "The interesting thing about an electric plane is that you want to go as high as possible".

His venture Neuralink will have "something interesting" to announce in a few months that will be "an order of magnitude" ahead of what people now think is possible, he said.

Elon Musk talked about artifical intelligence and colonising space during the long interview.

Then, like a nervous teen trying to fit in with the cool kids in an outdated after school special, Musk exhaled before the weed smoke could touch his lungs, employing President Bill Clinton's famed anti-inhalation method.
