Gary Neville tells Liverpool FC to sacrifice the Champions League

You bring your kids in the Champions League?

Spurs trail Premier League leaders Liverpool by three points but could move top for a few hours at least with victory at Wembley.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes too much demand is placed on global stars who have had barely any rest following the World Cup.

Neville has suggested that Jurgen Klopp's men should shift their focus away from the Champions League if they are to win the league title at the end of the season.

"Last year, for example, we had no chance to focus on one competition because we had to qualify for the Champions League and I don't think that even Gary Neville would have said: 'Quarterfinals of the Champions League, let City win'". That being said, the performances haven't been on the same level as some of the ones from past year, with the latest one against Leicester being particularly poor. "We don't play Champions League or what?"

"Now with the Nations League, worldwide managers can not rest players because it is a proper competition".

Liverpool beat Manchester City in the quarter-finals of last season's Champions League before eventually losing to Real Madrid in the final.

"We ask too much from the players, we constantly want them ready and if they are not we are not happy".

"Over the last three seasons Alderweireld has been the most consistent centre-back but if it's right now and you're giving me a pair then that back five has to be all Liverpool".

Jürgen Klopp has responded to comments made by Gary Neville in which the Manchester United legend said Liverpool should ignore the Champions League and focus only on winning the Premier League.

I do not read and do not listen to what is going on around.

"I don't like to compare players but we had similar question about Robbo and Oxlade and I'm not sure if Sadio (Mane) played from the beginning, but I think he had a full pre-season", Klopp added.

"I think it will be an open game". A mere mention of the names of these two teams would have you reaching for the back button, but I'm not convinced, and I quite like the Under at [2.38].
