The new charging dock is optimized for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. While Apple publishes a broad list of suppliers each year, it does not disclose which companies make which components and insists its suppliers keep quiet. They camped outside the River Oaks store waiting for doors to open, and finally get their hands on the new products.

A customer looks at Apple's new iPhone XS after it went on sale at the Apple Store in Tokyo's Omotesando shopping district on Friday. Apple iPhone XS with its IP68 rating can be submerged in fresh water up to two meters for 30 minutes.

If you're thinking of getting the smaller iPhone XS, you'll be happy to know that Apple is also giving it 4GB of RAM, which is 1GB more than last year's iPhone X. This is quite a significant change as usually Apple puts less RAM on its smaller model.

USA -based Qualcomm, the world's largest mobile phone chipmaker, has in turn accused Apple of patent infringement. But whereas the iPhone X had (and the iPhone XS Max still has) a double-battery configuration-one for the vertical line of the L and the other for the horizontal-the iPhone XS has one L-shaped battery.

While they're perhaps a touch dormant on new release devices, Huawei are far from inactive in the marketing space. 24% and 23% said that they will buy the iPhone XS ($999 for 64GB, $1,149 for 256GB, $1,349 for 512GB) and iPhone XS Max ($1,099 for 64GB, $1,249 for 256GB, $1,449 for 512GB) respectively. The Pixel 2 and Samsung Galaxy S9 offer a similar feature, too.

According to reports, as many as 200 power bans were handed out to iPhone fans in Singapore. That's what appealed to Li Jun, who works for a trading company in Guangzhou and traveled to Hong Kong to pick up an iPhone XS for HK$9,899 (US$1,265).

You would think the people who braved the weather and queued overnight were hardcore Apple fans who just want to own the latest iPhones, but that might not be the case. "Sin Tat Plaza should offer HK$300-400 [US$38-51] higher than the original price, according to my experience", he said, referring to the shopping centre in Mong Kok where numerous phone fix and accessories shops are located.
