GRAHAM: 'This is the Most Unethical Sham Since I've Been in Politics'

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has had a busy day of completely tearing apart the Democrats over their handling of the accusations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. [Chuck] Schumer said 23 minutes after your nomination, 'I'll oppose Judge Kavanaugh's nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same.

"I hope you're on the Supreme Court, that's exactly where you should be", Graham continued.

Graham's rebuttal came after Kavanaugh refused to endorse halting the review of his nomination so the FBI can investigate the allegations made by Blasey Ford and two other women.

The blistering rebuke of Democrats came after Christine Blasey Ford, the Palo Alto University psychology professor who accused Kavanaugh of assaulting her, testified about her experience with the judge.

The nominee said he did not know.

"If you really believe we needed an investigation of this, why didn't you tell us in August?" You withhold from the committee a chance to do this in a professional, timely fashion, when they publicly say that their goal is to delay the vote, get the Senate back in 2018, to make sure he can't fill the seat, they're publicly saying that, I don't want to reward that kind of behavior. You've said that. Not me. When you see [Justices] Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said hello cause I voted for them. It never happens to them.

"This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics", Graham lashed out, accusing Democrats of deliberately withholding Blasey Ford's assault allegations until the conservative judge's confirmation process was almost complete. You [Judge Kavanaugh] have nothing to apologize for.

"I can not imagine what you and your family have gone through", said Sen.

He further said that Ford's allegations, first reported in The Washington Post on September 16, were part of an effort by Democrats to stall the nomination of a qualified candidate until after the November midterm elections.

"I've never sexually assaulted anyone, not in high school, not in college, not ever", Kavanaugh told the panel. "I hope the American people can see through this sham, that you new about it and you held it".

Graham: Did you know that her staff had already recommended a lawyer to Dr. Ford? "None", the senator declared.

Turning to Kavanaugh, he added: "You're looking for a fair process". "This is not a job interview".

The judge politely replied, "I've been through a process of advice and consent under the Constitution".

During one of the recesses from the testimony, a woman approached Graham to say she has been raped, according to multiple reporters on the scene.

"I've been through hell and then some", said Judge Kavanaugh.

"This is not a job interview. This is going to destroy the ability of good people to come forward because of this crap". "And all of a sudden you got over it".
