Jurgen Klopp defends Mohamed Salah after poor form continues against Chelsea

Chelsea had taken the lead in the 25th minute through Eden Hazard, but Liverpool had golden chances to score three or four goals throughout the game.

Jorginho admits Chelsea's talisman has looked unplayable at times, with his form placing him in a talent bracket at the very top of the world game.

Speaking to BBC Sport Hazard told reporters that, when fully fit, 29-year-old Sturridge is a "fantastic player". It's important to keep pushing forward and have a positive outlook on how things are going'.

The former Liverpool defender thinks that Willian and Hazard proved to be threats for the Reds backline and were able to commit people to needing to make challenges.

"I think at the end of the season we can have four or five players over 10 goals".

It was his 50th Premier League goal for Liverpool and kept them unbeaten in the league this season, level with Manchester City on 19 points at the top of the table.

"He's such a threat still and it's really good".

'The boys work their socks off and we deserved that point.

Sturridge made Hazard pay for his wastefulness as the Liverpool striker came off the substitutes' bench to score a brilliant equaliser with one minute of normal time to play.

Since arriving at Anfield for a world record £75m back in January, Van Dijk has been central to Liverpool's much-improved defensive record.

It was a fairly successful summer for Hazard - netting the winning goal in the FA Cup Final against Manchester United and helping Belgium to third place at the World Cup in Russian Federation - which made high-profile interest nearly inevitable. Maybe they [Liverpool] are one step ahead but I am starting to think we can recover in one season.

"As long as we play like we did tonight we will win football games".

Klopp also attempted to downplay Mohamed Salah's withdrawal after 66 minutes, with Xherdan Shaqiri replacing the Egypt worldwide, who squandered a number of good opportunities during his return to Chelsea.

The Belgium star combined with Olivier Giroud and Mateo Kovacic in the centre-circle, raced onto the midfielder's pass and rifled the ball across Alisson and into the bottom-right corner.

"It's like riding a bike".
