Adam Driver and Kanye West were the host and musical guest, but the first star we saw in the cold open was none other than Matt Damon, who played Brett Kavanaugh in a lengthy skewering of the controversial Supreme Court nominee's recent Capitol Hill testimony.

As Damon said the actress' name, a cut-out of Milano popped-up from behind him, drawing a big laugh from the studio audience.

The evocative scenes during Kavanaugh hearings have etched in the minds of people not just in America but around the globe. Kavanaugh has denied the accusations.

"I am a keg is half full kind of guy", the SNL Kavanaugh said at one point before moving to a tearful account of his "beautiful" calendars. "I'm going to take it to a 15 real quick!" he exclaimed noting that he wrote his speech "last night while screaming into an empty bag of Doritos".

"Well that's impossible because I didn't have sex for many, many, many years", Damon said.

"First of all, I showed this speech to nearly no one, not my family, not my friends, not even P.J. or Tobin or Squee", Damon said, referring to Kavanaugh's high school friends who Christine Blasey Ford claims were present when Kavanaugh allegedly sexually groped her during a drunken party 36 years ago, when he was 17. "I'm gonna start at an 11".

"I've got these calendars". These attractive, creepy calendars about lifting weights with P.J. And Squee and donkey Donald Doug.

Cast members Alex Moffat and Cecily Strong appeared as Sens. Lindsey Graham to her long line of characters. Ex-SNLer Rachel Dratch returned to play Sen Amy Klobuchar, recreating the dueling Do You Drink Beer? moment. "I don't know, did you?!". "But if you think I'm angry now, you just wait until I get on to that Supreme Court because then you're all gonna pay", he stated before shotgunning a can of "water" and kicking off the 44th season of SNL with a bang.
