Kensington Palace says that Prince William and Kate are "thrilled for Pippa and James".

She announced her pregnancy in June, breaking the news in her Waitrose magazine column.

William and Kate, 36, are parents to Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 5 months.

The boy was reportedly born yesterday at 1.58pm, weighing 8lb and 9oz at the Lindo Wing in west London.

"Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well", her rep told People.

Pippa married James in a private ceremony in May a year ago in Englefield, south west of London.

Pippa Middleton and James Matthews welcome their first child.

The Lindo Wing has a history of welcoming members of The Royal Family into the world, so it is hardly a surprise that Mrs Matthews chose the exclusive unit give birth in.

Still, the couple had enough time to attend Princess Eugenie's wedding before checking in to the hospital just three days later.

The news follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's announcement they are expecting their first child.

"She's also given Pippa some of Prince George and Princess Charlotte's hand-me-downs but is obviously keeping some for Prince Louis".
