The odds of winning any prize, according to the Mega Millions website, are one in 24.

The dream lives on Saturday morning as the massive Mega Millions jackpot just got even bigger.

The victor might opt for the cash prize of more than $270 million, from which the federal government will take 25% right away, and more later. That means the top prize has now risen to an estimated $1.6 billion.

Each Powerball or Mega Millions ticket is $2.

If you're itching to play before then, the Powerball drawing will be today. Mega Millions officials say they have sold more than 34.4 million winning tickets for the game's secondary prizes since July.

Did anyone win the 10/19/18 Mega Millions jackpot? This made a Mega Millions ticket a one in 24 chance of being a victor of some amount when it used to be one in 14.7 odds.

The next Mega Millions draw will be on Tuesday, after no one hit all of the numbers of 15, 23, 53, 65, 70 and the Mega Ball 7 during Friday night's draw. Its jackpot rose on Friday to $470 million from $430 million, with a lump sum value of $268.6 million. In doing so, Powerball changed the odds of winning the jackpot from one in 175 million to one in 292.2 million.

Tickets cost $2 unless you opt for the "Megaplier", which raises the price to $3.

Because no Mega Millions winners emerged, the next scheduled drawing on Tuesday was projected to be worth a record $1.6 billion. "I'd give it away a little at a time - so people don't have to pay more taxes - and make the working people's lives a little better".
