According to trusted National Basketball Association insider Shams Charania, the Minnesota Timberwolves remained unmoved by Houston's trade offer, as they scour the market for trade alternatives.

The Rockets are 1-3 and welcome the Clippers to Houston on Friday.

And while that Eric Gordon and P.J.

According to an ESPN report, the Rockets have offered four first-round picks as part of a deal to land the disgruntled Tomball native.

The Heat's last offer included caving on three-and-D extraordinaire Josh Richardson and shooting guard Dion Waiters along with a protected first-round pick. Butler will become a free agent at season's end, so four first-round picks would be quite the expense for what in all likelihood would be a rental player. A revised offer reportedly packaged Richardson, center Kelly Olynyk and a first-rounder, but they all got the boot from president Tom Thibodeau, who is quarterbacking operations in trade talks.

It's a massive offer for a star the Rockets obviously believe could be the missing piece to a championship juggernaut, though the Timberwolves have shown surprisingly little interest in dealing Butler, who requested a trade in the preseason. Four picks is the most a team is allowed to trade at one time during a seven-year period.
