I'm here to pitch.

But instead of Friday night's tied game, which lasted more than seven hours by the time the Dodgers' Max Muncy hit a walk-off home run in the 18th inning, Saturday night's game took a turn for Boston with a five-run rally in the top of the ninth.

Sale had been announced as Boston's starter against Clayton Kershaw on Sunday, but Red Sox manager Alex Cora announced after the game he was switching to David Price and saving Sale for a possible sixth game at Fenway Park on Tuesday.

Jansen still blew his attempt at a six-out save in his third major World Series failure of the past two years. Who they go to for Game 5 will largely depend on how much of a role the bullpen plays on Saturday, with starter Drew Pomeranz expected to pick up a few innings after Rodríguez finishes his outing. And we needed his best effort.

"As long as the Dodgers keep winning, we're gonna be making these donuts", Primo said. "It's the World Series. It kind of got everything going and you saw everybody loosen up and just try to go out there and compete again", he added.

Clocking in at a stunning seven hours and 20 minutes with 18 innings, Game 3 of the 2018 World Series made history last night as the longest fall classic ever.

Los Angeles' bullpen threw 170 pitches - a pittance compared to the Boston bullpen's 222 pitches, and a possible advantage in Game 4. It was also the Dodgers' first extra-basehit in 74 plate appearances against the Red Sox in the series. Center is Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes.

Trouble at the top: The top four spots in the Red Sox lineup were a combined 0-for-28 with 12 strikeouts and two walks. Maeda fielded Christian Vazquez's bunt and boldly spun and threw to third, forcing out Nunez by inches - and then Maeda struck out Sandy Leon and Mookie Betts to quell the threat.

Pearce even scored Boston's ninth run on Bogaerts' single, celebrating wildly with his teammates in somnolent Chavez Ravine.

Before the game, the Dodgers stirred some happy memories for their fans by bringing out Kirk Gibson to throw the ceremonial first pitch. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts curiously turned to his exhausted bullpen with Hill rolling, and two batters after he exited, Moreland sent Scott Alexander's pitch into the back of the right-field bleachers with a 437-foot blast.

Eduardo Rodriguez started for the Red Sox and went 52/3 innings.

United States president Donald Trump criticised manager Dave Roberts after the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Boston Red Sox in game four of the MLB World Series.
