Facebook, Instagram hit by major outages across world

It was the second instance in the past two weeks in which technical issues appeared to affect access to Facebook.

The outage comes days after a new update, "Remove for Everyone", which give users 10 minutes to unsend or delete a sent message.

Several peopled weren't able to access and some couldn't post pictures or write on Facebook, Instagram and also share multimedia contents on WhatsApp.

It's amusing how Twitter becomes so popular when Facebook goes down as everyone complains about it and uses the hashtag - #Facebookdown. #InstagramDown is also trending on Twitter.

According to the portal, most people have reported a total Facebook blackout (44%), 33% have problems logging in with their name and password, and 21% have reported problems with Facebook applications.


Others joked about actually having to do work Tuesday morning without Facebook available as a form of procrastination.

A rush of issues were reported on Tuesday lunchtime United Kingdom time, as users reported being unable to load the page at all.

"We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps", said a spokesperson for the social media giant that also owns WhatsApp.

Facebook confirmed the issues on its Twitter account, saying the company was "working to resolve the issue as soon as possible".

FACEBOOK and Instagram have been hit by a service outage as some users around the world report being unable to access the social networks.
