‘2.0’ records two-day box office collections of Rs 109 crore

Although a crowd-puller, the critics had nothing to praise about the film other than its VFX and animations.

Further, the S.Shankar directed film made around Rs 18.57 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and crossed the $1-million mark in the USA and UAE-GCC.

"It has beaten #Sarkar 's ₹ 2.37 Crs set on #Diwali day".


Although this production may not seem to be everyone's cup of tea, it still managed to have a massive opening at the box office, earning over INR20 million in Chennai alone on the first day of its release, reported India Today.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the Box Office figures. Thursday 20.25 cr, Friday 18 cr. The movie is performing well in the Southern region but is struggling to keep up to expectations as far as the Hindi version is concerned. Directed by Shankar, the sci-fi film stars Amy Jackson as the female lead and released worldwide on November 29, 2018. The film had seen good hype building for it during last fortnight or so and that reflected in steady footfalls on the first day of release. Everyone is appreciating the performance of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

As per the report, the dubbed Tamil film is doing well in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Bihar and Central India as well as Mumbai and West Bengal. Reportedly, "2.0" happens to be the most expensive Indian film being made to date. The movie has been released in nearly 10,000 screens globally with around 32,000-33,000 shows across India.
