Shocking deaths top Google's trending searches in 2018

2018 may not have been the best of years, to put it mildly - but Google's "Year in Search" video is here to bring you a little bit of hope and put a smile on your face.

The phrase "Jobs near me" was in the top 10 in 2018 searches and since 2016, it has picked up its pace which signifies the level of unemployment in the nation, not exactly but it does sends a signal. That honour went to the World Cup.

Politics also dominated the conversation this year, with the most popular "How to" question being "How to register to vote" and both the EighthAmendment and blasphemy making an appearance in the 'What is?' categories. Black Panther was the second most searched film and Bohemian Rhapsody rounded out the top three.
