Solskjaer talks tough as he vows to get best out of Pogba

United, with Paul Pogba back in the fold, poured forward in a free-spirited manner rarely seen under Mourinho and Lingard's last-minute goal ensured they netted five in a league match for the first time since Ferguson's final match in charge in 2013.

The difference in performance levels from several United players was obvious as they produced an impressive display that has United fans dreaming of a vastly improved season.

Here is the full squad which travelled to Wales on Friday afternoon.

United are a shadow of their former glorious selves and sit 11 points outside the top four spots.

"We'll take one game at a time but we're eight points behind and we've caught up teams before at this club", Solskjaer told a news conference.

"I admire them at how they have developed into being proper players and what they did at the World Cup".

"You make me happy, when skies are grey" goes the song sung in Solskjaer's honour by United fans, and that certainly seems to be the case at the end of a week that started with Mourinho apparently looking likely to stay in the job.

" Whatever you say about the players they've thrown him under the bus".

The Sun claimed that following Mourinho's dismissal, Sanchez had allegedly sent a message to players on a WhatsApp group chat, to suggest that he had won a wager of $36,000 AUD with teammate Marcos Rojo over the manager's future.

Ole knows Pogba since his young days so he will definitely know how to get the better out of the Frenchman. "Ole's given them that freedom".

Striker Romelu Lukaku looks set to miss Solskjaer's first match as manager against Cardiff.

In the context of all Premier League clubs now, £20m+ is not "massive" for the odd individual signing, the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham, Palace and most others have already spent that in past windows, with no doubt many more such signings of that ilk to come in the very near future. It's worked well today.

"I'm pleased with all of them - every single one of them - but of course it's a threat", Solskjaer said.

'It doesn't matter what team you play, you should run more than them and then your skills will give you a chance to win the game'.
