Trade sources pegged the opening day figures at Rs 18.50 crore and the collection by Sunday evening at Rs 51.75 crore. The film's total stands at Rs 59.07 crore now. Despite having zero competition at the box office, the SRK's solo movie released this week failed to generate great business.

SRK in an attempt to quell the negativity came to two packed press screening of the film on Thursday night and requested the 400 odd film critics to refrain from posting anything on social media till the film's screening was complete.

The film is expected to gain momentum over the weekend and is all set to enjoy the Christmas holiday.

Zero's disappointing collection at the box office might also be the result of the competition it faces from movies like Yash's KGF: Chapter 1, Dhanush's Maari 2, Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar's 2.0 and with Hollywood's Spider-Man and Aquaman.

Even as Shah Rukh Khan's latest film, the ambitious Rs 200 crore romantic drama Zero flounders at the box office, fans are expressing their gratitude for getting one last chance to watch the late Sridevi on the big screen. Malala shared a video message praising the newly released film.

Bringing back the super hit trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, "Zero" offers interesting performances with an unconventional storyline. The Aanand L Rai directorial has released on 21st December 2018. The actress was not able to be with her family for the festival due to promotional activities for her film 'Zero'.
