Golfer Jyoti Randhawa Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody In Poaching Case

Global golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa has been arrested for alleged poaching in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, according to news agency ANI.

At the time arrest, a wild boar skin, dead jungle fowl and a.22 rifle were recovered from Randhawa's vehicle. Interrogation and legal action against Randhawa are being initiated by the Katarniaghat divisional forest officer, he said.

Ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa was today arrested in Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh on poaching charges in the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve protected area.

Randhawa is the ex-husband of Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh. The arrests took place in Motipur Range of Katerniaghat, field director Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) Ramesh Kumar Pandey.

A vehicle, a weapon and some articles related to wildlife were seized from Randhawa.

46-year-old Randhawa started his professional career in 1994 and took the top spot in the Asian Tour money list.

Randhawa reportedly owns a farm in the nearby area and was spotted moving in the are by the forest authorities during the last few days. The couple has a son together named Zorawar.

Randhawa, who recently started participating in global shooting tournaments, had an A-22 rifle, which was also seized by the police.
