Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has emerged as the subject of reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French champions tipped to offer the Welshman a contract and negotiate a deal with the Gunners when the January transfer window opens.

He had been heavily linked with Bayern Munich and Juventus in recent weeks, with both European heavyweights seemingly eyeing a free transfer at the end of the season.

"Ramsey is a great purchase", Pirlo told Sky Sports Italia.

"Juventus are preparing to pull off another excellent deal". The midfielder has been at the club since 2008 and has made over 350 appearances, contributing over 60 goals and 60 assists over that 10-year period.

The end is nigh for Aaron Ramsey's time at Arsenal.

How Arsenal fans will feel about allowing Ramsey to leave for an older midfielder will soon become clear, but it's yet another sign of Emery sculpting Arsenal's squad to match his philosophy.

It was also disclosed that the former Cardiff City player will sign a four-year contract worth €8m on a yearly basis.

Aaron Ramsey is the Gunners' longest serving player with over a decade of service to Arsenal.

But I spoke with him, and we need his performance for us.

'He played yesterday with a good spirit.

'I also need this focus for Liverpool on Saturday and then for Fulham [on New Year's Day]. "But above all I want [him to] have his focus on helping us".

Ramsey came on as a second-half substitute in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Brighton on Boxing Day.
