Officers saddened after truck hauling doughnuts goes up in flames

A Krispy Kreme doughnut truck went up in flames in Lexington, Kentucky, Monday afternoon on the interstate, local police told WKYT.

Police departments are showing their support for officers in Lexington, Ky. after a devastating loss.

The driver of the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts vehicle noticed smoke billowing from the back as he drove through Lexington.

Police departments from across the country chimed in to offer their condolences.

The police department wrote on social media, "no words", with a crying emoji as officers mourned the loss of the doughnuts during the fire.

The fire occurred near Man o' War Boulevard and Pink Pigeon Parkway causing lane closures.

On Tuesday, Krispy Kreme's official Twitter account reached out to the officers and said more doughnuts are on the way.
