The 18-year-old Wales global played his tenth game for the Blues in their comfortable 2-0 FA Cup third round victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, something that earned the Grecians £250,000 as part of Ampadu's move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's EFL Cup semi-final against Tottenham, Sarri said: "I can say only my opinion, I don't know the decision of the club. As I said in my social media statement, I'm 100 per cent for the rest of the season and would like to have a happy ending with Dortmund".

Another player who has been linked with a move away is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who set up both goals for Alvaro Morata against Forest.

"I've seen how quick he thinks on the spot".
