Jenner's image is now the second-most-liked image on Instagram with 18.3 million likes.

Kylie Jenner's birth announcement, an endearing photo of her newborn baby's fingers wrapped around her perfectly-manicured thumb, was the most-liked post on Instagram ever.

After breaking the record, the mysterious Instagram account shared a message to their egg-cited fans on their story.

It has racked up more than 24 million likes, beating a post by Kylie Jenner. She wrote: "Take that little egg".

"Egg Gang" launched the challenge on January 4, and by January 13 had eclipsed Jenner's most popular post. "We got this", the post said. Half an Onion, a twitter page managed to garner around 6 million followers in an attempt to overtake the popularity of Donald Trump's Twitter account.

His post, celebrating Maezawa's clothing company, Zozotown, making 10 billion yen ($92 million) in sales over Christmas, has been retweeted almost 5.3 million times.

The now-outranked photo Jenner posted to receive millions of like was of her daughter, Stormi Webster.

"This is madness. What a time to be alive", read the text. "Alright guys. First let's feel the ground", Jenner says in the video, which was once posted on her Snapchat.

Since it hit the top spot, the account has changed its bio to: "Official world record holders of the most liked picture on Instagram". Are those creeps from the Egg Council finally getting to us too? "It was nothing personal". It's that of a simple brown chicken egg.

When asked for a comment, individual behind the account, who has been verified by Instagram, sent a series of statements to ABC News.

The photo purposefully wanted to dethrone Jenner.
