When she chatted to a group of pensioners from a local dementia care home who receive petting dog visits organised by Mayhew, she was introduced to Gothrine McEachrom, known as Peggy, who said: "You're a fat lady".

Wowing the crowd as she arrived, the gorgeous pregnant Duchess turned heads in a shimmering navy, sequinned dress by Roland Mouret and a bracelet thought to have belonged to Princess Diana.

Well, thankfully, the Duchess had a great sense of humor about the remark and responded, "I'll take it!" while laughing!

One doubtful social media user said: "Think you need to go to Specsavers".

That being said, when someone called her a 'fat lady, ' the Duchess had the flawless response and definitely did not get offended. She bonded with one dog in particular - Minnie, a Jack Russell terrier.

The duchess picked up the dog when she spotted it was shivering and clutched it to her chest when she chatted to Mayhew staff who told her about the charity's projects in India and Afghanistan.

The royal is not at all fat, but the belly seems to be getting bigger and bigger as the days pass and her spring due date is approaching.

The duchess later described her early experiences with her rescue dog Guy, who had been traumatised by earlier experiences.

Duchess Meghan Markle made an official royal visit today (January 16) to an animal rescue organization and met with lots of volunteers and workers at the organization. Meghan, 37, wore her raven hair neatly up and sported smokey eye makeup, flushed cheeks and nude, glossy lips. Meghan has taken up the post of Patron to support the education and animal welfare work of Mayhew.
