President Donald Trump paid tribute to college football champion Clemson for winning the College Football Playoff National Championship at a White House ceremony Monday evening.

"Lobster, whatever you want, we're gonna take care of you", Strahan added.

Needless to say, the internet can't stop laughing about Trump's luxe fast food feast.

"We have Big Macs, we have Quarter Pounders with cheese", he said.

"I think we are going to serve McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King's with some pizza".

And he wasn't joking: There were stacks of (very patriotic) burgers, pizza, fries, and nuggets arranged on silver platters in the White House's dining room. "I think that just shows that they're more focused on stopping the president than they are on serving the country".

It's a bit early in the week for a cheat day, but the Tigers will work it off throughout the spring as Lawrence and Co. get set to defend their title.

Pasted below a photo of Lawrence celebrating Clemson's national championship victory over Alabama, with the headline of "Clemson QB speaks out to defend America", it circulated mostly in far-right circles on Twitter.

The White House had no immediate comment on Pelosi's request and her letter appeared to take aides by surprise. He announced: "If it's American [food], I like it".

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) talks to journalists following a meeting with President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, and fellow members of Congress about border security at the White House in Washington on January 2, 2019.

It's a pairing we've seen a lot of before - Trump and fast food - and much has been written about the president's diet which according to his former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, consists largely of fast food and diet coke. It's great to see because we need border security.

On Tuesday, the White House had invited rank-and-file lawmakers to lunch with Trump at the White House as part of a strategy to build support from centrist Democrats and newly elected freshmen. Trump has at least two more years in the White House.

Senate Democrats planned to gather on the steps of the Capitol at noon EST (1500 GMT) on Wednesday to highlight the havoc the shutdown is wreaking, as 800,000 federal workers are furloughed or work without pay, and contractors do not receive payments.

Despite there having been a significant decrease in the number of migrants apprehended at the U.S. -Mexico border in the past 18 years, Pence defended his use of the term "humanitarian crisis" by pointing out that last month the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency "apprehended almost 40 percent more unaccompanied children and groups claiming to be families than in May 2014, which President Barack Obama described as a "humanitarian crisis" at the time".
