Authorities are looking for Dakota Theriot after two Saturday morning shootings in Ascension and Livingston parishes, near Baton Rouge.

Dakota Theriot is wanted on multiple counts of first-degree murder, home invasion and weapons charges after the killing spree that began in Livingston Parish - just east of the state capital, Baton Rouge - and ended in Ascension Parish.

Webre called the first incident a case of domestic violence and said that Dakota Theriot was recently asked to leave the residence and not return.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office identified the three other victims on Facebook as Billy, Tanner and Summer Ernest.

He is understood to still be at large with police warning people who see him to stay away. Police believe he's heading towards Mississippi. He should be considered armed and risky.

The Ernests' neighbor Charlenne Bordelon told The Advocate the two youngest children, both under 8, in the Ernest family ran to her home early Saturday asking for help after the shooting.

The victims were identified as a husband and wife.

"We have reason to believe that that truck may be traveling east of this direction towards MS", the sheriff said.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard along with the Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre will have a press conference tonight at 10:00. "We feel that they are related", Webre said. Webre said that information led authorities to zero in on the couple's son as a suspect.

The victims were not relatives of the suspect but appeared to know him.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office identified the victims as Billy Ernest, Tanner Ernest, and Summer Ernest. Authorities said those people are "safe" as of 2 p.m. Saturday.

DeYoung said her brother, niece and nephew were good people who "trusted people too much". He was believed to be driving a stolen 2004 Dodge Ram pickup, gray and silver in colour.

The sheriff also spoke to officials at the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, who were working on a potentially connected triple homicide.

Separately on Facebook, the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said two people were shot to death in the city of Gonzalez.

"I would not approach this vehicle".
