Huawei 5G Foldable Phone to be launched on Feb 24

Huawei did not reveal all that much info about its foldable phone, nearly any, but thanks to various trademarks and patents, we do have some info regarding the device, or at least we think we do. Nothing much of the device is known as of now but the Unpacked event is not very far where we can have a glimpse of this upcoming foldable device. The phone's folding display is also shown in the teaser, which confirms it to be a single display panel that folds from the centre. Huawei's First Foldable Phone The Chinese brand took to Twitter to announce its upcoming event at this year's Mobile World Congress, happening at Barcelona, Spain, in February 24. Among the things we don't know is if it will come equipped with the M-Pen, like the Mate 20 X gaming phone, as well as how it will fold.

This could be potentially the first 5G fold able device available on the market and it will go well with the theme of MWC.

Courtesy of Dutch blog LetsGoDigital, the US Patent and Trademark Office has just published a design patent that shows a foldable phone with dedicated gaming buttons which can be hidden when not in use.

In a morning tweet today, Huawei said it will launch a foldable phone at MWC 2019 on February 24.


Smartphones are going through a transition phase and the next big approach in terms of design is a foldable phone. The smartphone has dual displays - the smaller one is on the outer cover, whereas the larger, foldable display is on the inside. We are not sure which smart-phone maker will win the race in launching their foldable handset first.

Coming back to Huawei's upcoming foldable 5G offering, it will reportedly feature a 7.2-inch display.
