Yet even in Siberia the Portuguese can't seem to stay out of the headlines as he suffered an embarrassing slip after dropping the puck at the start of the ice hockey game for the face-off.

As he turned to walk off the ice, he slipped on a red carpet and fell backward before being helped up by SKA player and two-time Stanley Cup victor Pavel Datsyuk.

It is not the first mishap Mourinho has had this year when it comes to staying on his feet on the red carpet.

In the days since his sacking, Mourinho has been keeping busy, working as a guest analyst on beIN Sports, before now making his way to Russian Federation where he seen was doing work for Kontinental Hockey League club Avangard Omsk.

However, the same can't be said about his return journey back off the ice...

Earlier, had reported how Premier League giants Manchester United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjær as their new manager until the end of the ongoing 2018/19 Premier League season.

Mourinho has been out of work since he was removed from his role at United in December after two-and-a-half years at the helm.

The run has been partly due to resurgence of Paul Pogba, who Mourinho benched during his final days in charge, as the France midfielder has scored six goals and added five assists in those 10 games.
