Members of K-pop band BTS will go to this year's Grammy Awards, a major music event to be held in Los Angeles on February 10, as award presenters, the boy band's agency said. The South Korean boyband is said to be gracing the prestigious music event for the first time to hand an award to an unrevealed category's victor.

A spokesperson for the band confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that its members - namely Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, Jin, V, Suga and RM - will take to the stage at the 61st annual awards, though did not reveal in which category BTS will present the golden gramophone.

The news was earlier reported by USA media Variety and later on confirmed by Billboard, sending fans to celebrate on Twitter using the trend #BTSxGrammys immediately.

Other than presenting an award, BTS will also be attending the ceremony as nominees for the Best Recording Package category in recognition of the cover art for their album Love Yourself: Tear.

As soon as BTS's attendance on Grammys has been reported, the hashtag "BTXxGRAMMYS" began to trending worldwide.


Nominated for one award at this year's Grammies - for Best Record Packaging, no less - BTS will be on hand to appear at the ceremony.

The group, which made their debut in 2013, are known for their blend of hip-hop with rock and pop elements.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Grammy Awards will be hosted by the American singer, Alicia Keys.

Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with eight total nominations, followed by Drake with seven.

When do the 2019 Grammy Awards start? Janelle Monáe, Brandi Carlile, Kacey Musgraves, H.E.R., Maren Morris, Dan + Shay, and Little Big Town will also grace the stage.
