There are plenty of events to keep fans interested over the weekend, beginning with the Hall of Fame announcement at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, February 15. Young talent was showcased and surprising innovations were made.

NBA All-Star Saturday Night will get started with the Skills Challenge, which features some big names.

The highlight of 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend might be Saturday night when some of the league's best players will participate in various individual competitions.

The original intention of the sophomore was to divert Young's shot, and prevent him from hitting that three, but it turned out to be even better. Jayson Tatum hit the half-court shot to beat Trae Young who was already seen as the certain victor. It would be phenomenal to see Dirk go out with a 3-Point Contest win.

This challenge is changing before our very eyes.

This event is featured as the all-star weekend.

The first contest on the night was the Skills challenge.

Then this year Joe Harris out-duelled three-point specialist Stephen Curry to win the contest. The Celtics' rising star launched the deep three and banked it in off the glass to defeat Young.

And on Sunday, D'Angelo Russell will make his first career All-Star appearance. The Nets are nearly defiantly on the up and up even though few take notice.

When is the Dunk Contest? Dennis Smith Jr. threw one down over retiring National Basketball Association great Dwyane Wade, for his own ideal 50, though it wasn't quite as impressive as the Shaq dunk, at least in my opinion.

Cole lobbed it up to Smith for a one-handed flush while he hopped over the rapper.

But overall, once again, the Dunk Contest was a bit of a snoozer.

But in the second round, Smith appeared to be running out of gas. Something has to change. "A lot of people didn't know about him, but they do now".

It probably wasn't quite as good a showdown as Aaron Gordon vs. Zach LaVine in 2016, but it was still pretty impressive. Absolutely nothing about that was boring.
