Celtic fans on Rodgers leaving, Lennon returning - 'Disbelief', 'Judas'

Lennon, 47, was in charge at Tynecastle after being appointed to replace Brendan Rodgers, who departed for Leicester City on Tuesday.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes doesn't believe the departure of Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will have any real effect on the title race.

Rodgers made a decision to leave his role as Celtic manager, despite being on the cusp of sealing a historic third consecutive domestic treble.

Rodgers is no stranger to the Premier League, having steered a Luis Suarez-inspired Liverpool to within touching distance of the title in 2013-14 before getting sacked in October 2015.

"'It was an absolute honour to play for this great club, to captain the team and, of course, to become Celtic manager, a position which I cherished dearly", he said.

The Swans won widespread plaudits for an impressive first season under Rodgers in the Premier League in 2011/12, where their stylish displays helped them to an 11th-placed finish.

Lennon said: "Tough games but this is the business end of the season and looking at the mentality of the players, they look really focused". This is a Club which has been such a huge part of my life already and it is an honour to be asked to return.

"It's a little bit about bottle and a bit about managing your own career but I think Gerrard has got him running scared a little bit and that's why he's coming to Leicester".

Neil Lennon has been brought in on an interim basis as his replacement and will be assisted by John Kennedy and Damien Duff.

Barely an hour after being hired as Leicester's manager, Brendan Rodgers took a seat in the stands at King Power Stadium to have a first good look at his new team.

"We know he's coached a lot of young players and we hope he can bring them on - we're all excited. He has been a tremendous ambassador for Celtic and I wish him every success for the future".

Form wise, Celtic have been excellent in 2019 and have won all nine domestic matches and conceded just one goal in the process.
