In this LG G8 release date guide we'll tell you everything you need to know about LG's latest phone.

Brian Higgins, VP, Verizon wireless device and product marketing, has made an official statement to say that as Verizon launches its 5G Ultra Wideband in almost 30 USA cities in 2019, the company wants to ensure that its customers have a choice of 5G smartphones. So, to unlock the phone, you need to place your registered hand in front of the Z Camera, and the phone will unlock. Also, LG G8 ThinQ packs a huge 4,000 mAh battery with the support of Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. In addition, there's Hand ID biometric recognition feature that uses the phone's ToF camera and infrared sensors to identify the users's hand and other details. Digit is India's most popular technology media brand across print, online and social media. The Dual Screen accessory effectively turns the V50 into a 5G sandwich, which is one way to hit back against the Samsung Galaxy Fold when you don't have a bendy handset of your own to show off. LG G8 ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ. The bottom speakers have been retained and are now capable of stereo sound. There’s 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage which can be increased further by a microSD card. The case again draws battery juice via the Pogo pins on the rear of the V50 to power the extra display.

One of the cameras on the back of the LG G8 is a regular 78-degree, 12-megapixel camera.

The all-new LG V50 ThinQ features a 6.4-inch Quad-HD (1440×3120 pixels) OLED FullVision display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and has 538ppi Pixel density.

There is a triple camera setup on the rear that includes a 16MP Super Wide (F1.9 / 1.0μm / 107˚) camera, a 12MP Standard (F1.5 / 1.4μm / 78˚) camera & a 12MP Telephoto (F2.4 / 1.0μm / 45˚) camera.

Elsewhere, the G8 ThinQ comes with the same Snapdragon 855 chip, DTS:X sound and audio that actually uses the screen to augment the sound.

The phone comes in single Astro Black colour option and will be available in select markets such as the US, South Korea, Australia and select European markets later this year. Hiding inside the notch are not one but two selfie cameras with an 8 MP sensor paired with a standard lens and 5 MP sensor paired with a wide-angle lens, like on its successor the V40 ThinQ.

Foldable devices aren't the same for every phone maker, and LG is showing it's thinking out of the box, possibly for more cost effective reasons.

While most smartphones require a code or fingerprint contact, the G8ThinQ handset uses light sensors to scan the veins in a user's hand or to recognise their face.
