Watford don't expect Rodgers to ring Leicester changes

Brendan Rodgers saw enough from his Leicester side to be positive about the future, despite his first game in charge ending in a 2-1 defeat to Watford.

A Jamie Vardy strike had drawn Leicester level after the interval, after Troy Deeney had given the hosts an early lead in the first half.

Congerton is in line to join Rodgers at Leicester ahead of next season and would replace Eduardo Macia, whose contract at the King Power Stadium expires this summer.

"That's something we'll get the more we work together".

Watford roared out of the blocks and Deeney's faintest of flicks from Gerard Deulofeu's free kick carried the ball past Kasper Schmeichel.

"I said to them despite the result we have had a really good week's training, they have taken on board the areas we spoke about. There were a lot of good signs".

"If someone had told us nine games ago we would be in this position, no one would have believed them".

The outlet reckons that Rodgers is not intent on returning to Scotland for many players but one star he is interested in is the Colombian worldwide after his phenomenal 28-goal season so far.

"I know it's a trend that we need to eradicate".

He said: "The goal at the end is a case of managing the game".

At 35 years old, it's not inconceivable that Leicester fans could get their wish at the end of the current season as Rodgers looks to put his own fingerprint on his team and change the old guard who have taken the club to unimaginable heights.
