A member of K-pop band Big Bang is reportedly leaving the entertainment industry over allegations of sexual bribery.

As per reports, Seungri was arrested after Seoul police raided a nightclub on Sunday in order to gather more evidence against him.

The announcement came early Monday morning, straight from the star's Instagram page. I've chose to retire from the entertainment industry because of the huge social controversy that has arisen. Regarding the issues that are being investigated, I will accept all investigations and reveal all the suspicions.

"During the past month and a half, I have received criticism and hate from the public and been in a situation where every investigative agency in this country is investigating me". "As I've been branded as a 'national traitor, ' I can not stand the fact that I'm harming others for my own sake".

A rep from YG Entertainment commented on Big Bang's Seungri.

Again, I am sorry and apologize once again.

This news is surely a disappointing blow for Seungri's career.

This is Seungri. At this point, I think it would be for the best if I retire from the entertainment industry.

If you don't know, he is one part of the boy band BIGBANG. He entered the industry over 10 years ago.

In 2011, band leader G-Dragon was investigated for smoking marijuana, which is illegal in South Korea, but was released without charge.

Numerous greatest bands in history had to deal with controversy at one point or another.

Seungri is expected to enter South Korea's mandatory military service on March 25 as an active duty soldier, ABS-CBN reported.
