Jürgen Klopp praises Liverpool for ‘sensational result’ against Fulham

And speaking after the game, Fulham boss lauded the performance from Liverpool and claimed that the Jurgen Klopp led side is now the best counter-attacking side in Europe.

The on-form Sadio Mane put the visitors in front midway through the first half, but a rare defensive mix-up between Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker allowed Ryan Babel to give his former club a huge scare 16 minutes from time.

Not that it mattered anyway: just as viewers were getting anxious about Fulham showing some competency, they stuffed it up and gave away a daft late penalty that James Milner converted for a nervy Liverpool win in west London.

With title rivals Man City playing in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Swansea City yesterday, Jurgen Klopp's men had the opportunity to go into the global break top of the Premier League with a win at Craven Cottage.

Neil Mcleman believes City's goal scoring machine Sergio Aguero deserves to be given the honorary award for his impeccable record this season. The media makes it sound even negative sometimes! "I didn't see any panic". I liked how we reacted. "We will take it game by game".

"We had a very intense week going to Munich and coming back, travelling to London".

"Average game, sensational result", said Klopp of his side's performance.

City travel to Fulham - who are 13 points away from safety - after the global break on March 30 and Klopp thinks that if they can add an end product to their passing game they could make it hard for the reigning champions.

"There will be more players he can choose from and rotate it a little bit". "That's always a different game".

"But those who are playing, they are playing extremely well". It didn't feel like we were really under threat, to be honest.

"We had to run a lot in a week where we ran a lot", added Klopp to justify an at times lacklustre display at such a pivotal stage of the season.
