The Spartans beat the Golden Gophers at the Breslin Center, 79-55, on February 9, but Izzo said at a news conference from the Wells Fargo Center on Friday both teams were playing much differently.

Golden State Warriors forward and Michigan State basketball alum Draymond Green provided some insight into the head coach's outburst on Twitter.

Perhaps seeing a matchup like the Gophers and Spartans on Saturday could become less of a rarity in the future, given the committee's recent de-emphasis of conference records when picking the field.

Izzo reminded Henry that he has a responsibility to his teammates, coaches, and university to bust his ass at all times.

The Spartans survived No. 15 Bradley in the first round on Thursday and pulled away late for a 76-65 win.

TULSA, Okla. - Jeremy Harris and Nick Perkins each scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds to help lead No. 6 seed Buffalo (32-3) past No. 11 Arizona State (23-11). The criticism of Izzo followed him to his Friday night presser with the national media.

"I'm very excited", Ward said. "So, it's really significant to us, been in this position two years ago where we lost and now just being able to redeem that loss and win and keep moving and advancing and then going into the next game with a good mindset I think it's a pretty positive thing". It will be the first time two Big Ten teams have squared off in the tournament since 2000 and at the earliest point ever.

MSU snapped a 3-game losing streak as they took down Minnesota 79 to 55.

"I just felt at that moment I could get the message to [Henry] better than coach, " Winston said.

Michigan State has been knocked out in the first or second round of the NCAA tournament for the last three years.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Payton Pritchard scored 19 points, Kenny Wooten protected the rim with four blocks, and 12th-seeded OR (24-12) extended its surprising March run by beating No. 5 seed Wisconsin (23-11). But the 6 foot, 8 inch junior said he's feeling healthier every day.

"The emphasis shouldn't be placed on geography, but it should be placed on rewarding teams that have performed and what their performance is", Izzo said. This week I'm starting to feel normal. "Catching hard entry passes was my thing for a while, but since it's on my left hand it has made it challenging". As far as catching the ball, it is a bit of a challenge.
