Manchester United may sign Borussia midfielder for £80m

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, is determined to leave the club and has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid this summer, Marca reports. It's one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Juve had also been tipped to sign Varane's club-mate Marcelo, who was expected to move on if Santiago Solari remained as Madrid coach beyond the summer.

The report also directly contradicts a recent story that emerged in England suggesting Pogba has held private meetings with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - the same man he has publicly supported to become permanent manager - assuring he has no intention to leave. Let us know in the comments section below.

"Of course, people always say look at Real Madrid look at Barcelona", he said.

Pogba's flirting with other clubs was previously understandable given what he was going through before under Jose Mourinho's management.

His improvement for Manchester United has come with a catch, though, with the World Cup victor now firmly back on Real Madrid's transfer radar.

Toni Kroos has taken a swipe at his critics, insisting that he expects the negative attention having been "successful for a very long time". Mino Raiola had played an important role in the transfer.

Despite his drop in standard, Kroos has enjoyed a trophy-laden career with the European juggernauts, winning 11 trophies, including three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, since making the move to Madrid in July 2014.

Kroos has much more to offer than Schweinsteiger did, but the playmaking midfielder is a man that can sometimes slow the play down, and United need to return the pace and power of the 1990/2000s teams put together from Sir Alex Ferguson, so Solskjaer should eye up a more exciting young prospect.
