The Huawei P30 Pro was also lauded for its video performance, as the testing firm specifically praised the image stabilization, autofocus capabilities, noise levels in decent light, details, and color rendering. If you've been following the many rumours and leaks you'll be pretty familiar with the pair already, but for those who haven't here's what you need to know.

On the video front, the P30 Pro can shoot 2160p at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 720p at 960fps. The P30 Pro HDR+ enables the front and rear cameras to combine multiple photos taken in quick succession to optimise overexposed and backlit selfies.

Cameras are the other main difference. If you use it without exercise tracking "in a more traditional watch scenario", the company says you should expect 30 days of battery life. It's the software that Huawei has developed for them is what has everyone raving. Gone is the dedicated monochrome sensor camera as found on the P20 Pro, which some people will be sorry to see go - but it was felt that the wide-angle lens was more popular.

There's definitely a lot more to come about the P30 Pro's cameras and we will bring you our first impressions as soon as possible.

"The zoom on its own will make the new Huawei an extremely tempting option for many mobile photographers, but the camera performs very well in nearly all other areas as well", DxOMark writes in its review.

The Samsung S10 Plus and iPhone Xs Max, in comparison, offers 2 times optical zoom, 10 times digital zoom and no hybrid zoom. There is also dual OIS (optical image stabilisation). Alongside a basic Black, there is also Pearl White, Breathing Crystal (light blue), Amber Sunrise (orange) and Aurora (blue-green, based on the Northern Lights). Ahead of our full review, here are our detailed first impressions of using the latest Huawei premium device.

Huawei, also the world biggest supplier of telecommunications equipment, is also unveiling new consumer products as it fights allegations of cyber espionage from the US.

Additionally, the Huawei P30 packs a 3,650mAh battery, whereas the Huawei P30 Pro includes a 4,200mAh battery and has an IP68-certified build.

This could suggest that it will be launching wireless earbuds for the P30 handsets. Its main sensor is still a 40MP RYYB sensor but now it is paired to an f/1.8 aperture lens instead.

The ultra-wide is now a 16MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens, and while the zoom camera still features an 8MP sensor, the lens is no longer a periscope lens, but a standard 3X f/2.4 aperture lens with OIS.

As of now, Huawei has yet to release specific pricing or availability details. Unlike the Pro, there is no periscope lens or TOF sensor.
