Similar to the iPhone SE, the iPhone XE is expected to be a compact smartphone that would be a breath of fresh air for the buyers who yearn for a handy phone than large-screen phones.

Hence, the base-end 64GB storage model will be available at Rs. 59,900 (MRP: Rs. 76,900) whereas the mid-end 128GB storage variant and top-end 256GB model will retail for Rs. 64,900 (MRP: Rs. 81,900) and Rs. 74,900 (MRP: Rs. 91,900), respectively.

Non-HDFC clients will nearly certainly buy the 128GB and 256GB models of the iPhone XR at Rs. 64,900 and Rs. 74,900 separately, as compared to their MRP of Rs. 81,900 and Rs. 91,900 individually. The discount will be a huge driver for iPhone XR sales in the country, and should give Apple some much-needed momentum in the premium segment.

Schiller, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing of Apple, speaks about the new Apple iPhone XR at an Apple Inc product launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, U.S., September 12, 2018. Furthermore, under this restricted time offer, HDFC charge and credit card holders will be qualified for 10 percent extra money back, getting iPhone XR's successful value ln India down to an appealing value of Rs. 53,900. If the customer is a user of the Indian Bank HDFC, the high-capacity version can be acquired with a 22% discounted price tag.

Prices for the two other XR variants have also dropped. The promotional offer will start from April 5 and will be on till stocks last.

The iPhone XR was widely expected to do well in price-sensitive markets like India as despite its slightly lower price tag, it offered nearly the same set of features as its bigger and more expensive iPhone XS sibling.

Apple Inc has cut prices of one of its latest iPhones in India by around one-fourth, sources said, as the USA tech giant looks to boost sales in the world's second-biggest smartphone market following a similar move in China. The change in pricing of the iPhone XR is a short-term promotional offer.

New rumours indicate Apple could be working on an upgrade to one of its most beloved smartphones, the iPhone SE. The shift in strategy with cheaper Phone XR models could be a fresh start for Apple in the country that favours cheaper Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi and OnePlus. However, according to analysts, Indian market is the most expensive to buy the iPhone range.
