Disney+ Streaming Service Will Come to Consoles Later This Year

Kennedy made the announcement during Disney's Investor Day, as a raft of details about the company's streaming plans were revealed. Pricing will be $6.99 a month with an annual plan costing $69.99. "A post-Endgame MCU will be extremely different and extremely focused on Disney+ tying into our future movies", he said. The event also featured presentations by Michael Paull, president, Disney Streaming Services; Randy Freer, chief executive officer, Hulu; Russell Wolff, executive vice president and general manager, ESPN+; Uday Shankar, president, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific and chairman, Star and Disney India; Ricky Strauss, president, Content and Marketing, Disney+; and Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+.

The Mandalorian will be available to start streaming when Disney+ launches, and all Star Wars movies will be available to stream within the first year.

News that the entire Star Wars movie franchise would premiere on Disney+ within the first year of its launch was surrounded by a ton of other exciting news for the streaming platform. Titled Disney+, the service will have just about every Disney movie and TV show, including "The Lion King", "Snow White", and "Mary Poppins".

Within the first year of launch, which begins on November 12, audiences can have access to Disney's entire Pixar film collection, as well as Marvel's most recent superhero release Captain Marvel and many more of the studios popular films.

At an unveiling on Disney's studio lot in Burbank, investors with Disney's top brass unveiled new details about the service. Projects already in the works include a Monsters Inc. spin-off series, a The Sandlot TV series, and many new Marvel projects.

You can see the logo for the now-confirmed Falcon & Winter Soldier series in the images above, which will unite Captain America's two best buds for their own adventure (Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are both expected to reprise their roles).

Disney+ makes its long-awaited debut later this year, bringing with it a slew of new original programming that includes a handful of shows set in the MCU.

Additionally, Disney+ announced that all 30 seasons of "The Simpsons" will be available on the service on day one.
