Tiger Woods brings Serena Williams to tears with Masters win

Fortunately the American saw it out and won his 15th major, 11 years after his 14th, and his fifth win at the Masters.

It marked a remarkable redemption for Woods, and it silenced the many doubters who had thought his best days were way beyond him.

Finau, playing in his second Masters, was paired with Woods and Molinari in the day's final grouping.

He became the second-oldest Masters victor, trailing only Nicklaus at 46 in 1986.

And after Woods' momentous victory Sunday, multiple sponsors are celebrating his resilience.

Nike Inc's long-time brand ambassador Tiger Woods gave investors another reason to cheer on Monday, after the world's biggest name in golf won the Masters, pushing the company's stock higher.

Woods, one shy of matching Nicklaus for the most career Masters wins, won his 81 career US PGA victory, one shy of the all-time record held by Sam Snead.

"TaylorMade, a golf club manufacturer and another sponsor of Woods, is promoting the hashtag "#NeverDone" - a reference to the player's longevity.

Woods lost his impeccable image to a sex scandal.

"I had serious doubts after what transpired a couple years ago", said Woods.

And now it's all pieced back together - his life, his back, even golf.

But Nike, which has been a sponsor since 1996, has stuck by him.

The question now is whether Woods can catch up with Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors. That resulted in another $1 million paid back to FanDuel customers. Tiger Woods should be able to outfit his whole family in green jackets and parade through the streets in triumph, but the "rules" instead state that he can only keep this one green jacket at his home for a year, then he has to return it to Augusta and can only wear it when he's on the grounds. "You have to respect the office", Woods said.

"That was 22 years ago, when my dad was there and then now my son's there, my daughter was there, my mom's there". Was it the best sports moment we've seen in our lifetimes?

From a branding perspective, he says, Woods' story has obvious appeal.

But with a surgically-fused back that is allowing him to generate nearly as much power as 20 years ago it would be courageous to bet against a man who has already done the seemingly impossible time and time again.

But there was epic failure in the way so many of his challengers failed to meet the challenge with the championship up for grabs.

"We were a small loser to Tiger before the start but were able to fade it over the course of the tournament", Rood said. "No man in the game has inspired more opinion, and his story is well known". "Tiger climbs back to the top, and a guy from Wisconsin, on his first sports bet ever, wins over $1 million betting on him". At 43, Woods became the oldest champion since Nicklaus himself. After his first-ever Masters win in 1997, he hugged his father, who died in 2006. How could not one but four players in the last two threesomes find Rae's Creek at the shortest par 3 on the course? He reflected on how this win could change how his kids see him and his place in the professional golf.

"Running the numbers on how long it'll take me to get to 15".

"I don't know if there are words - I'm sure he's ecstatic about it", Koepka said. "We're creating new memories for them".
